So, what's it like to be a cat?
By circusmama onMy son received this book for his first birthday, and it became one of the first books I had memorized from reading it so much!Written by Karla Kuskin and illustrated by Betsy Lewin, it's the story of an interview between a boy and his cat.
The text is quite charming.Everything written in rhyme, which makes it very easy for young ears to pay attention. It is a longer book, but my son has loved it since he was one.
The illustrations, done by Betsy Lewin, add a lot of value to this book.My children's favorite page is when the cat is dancing through the page to the text, "Cats have moods like many creatures: mothers, fathers, tigers, teacher. So when I feel the need to prance I run and whisk my tail and dance."The cat dances and jumps his way through the book.
Overall, this has been one of my children's favorites for along time.I would recommend reading it to your children too.
