Soft Cabbage Patch Baby
By Christi239 onOn my daughter's first Christmas, my mother gave her a Cabbage Patch doll. The baby was only a month old (my daughter, not the doll) at the time, so the doll was put away for awhile.Once my daughter was big enough to start playing with toys, we gave her the doll.
It has a really soft body. The stuffing is part pellets, like those found in a bean bag, and part polyester fiber. The beans make this doll a bit heavy, but still light enough for my 17 month old to carry around. The doll is on the small side too, so she doesn't drag the ground when my girl is hugging her and walking about. Even though the body is cloth, it can still be wiped down with a wet cloth and left to air dry.
This Cabbage Patch Kid has a scented head.It smells of baby powder. At first it was overwhelming. So if you do decide to purchase this, I suggest taking it out of the package and allowing it to air out a bit.Even now, after having this doll for a year, the scent is still there.
Even without clothes this doll is cute, without being inappropriate. It has a little baby crack stitched on, as well as a belly button. My daughter was born with a little umbilical hernia, making her's an extreme "outie".The doll has an outie too. And just to be sure it's an authentic Cabbage Patch Kid, you can find Xavier Robert's signature, right on the bum.
I think Cabbage Patch Kids are a great gift for the kid that enjoys playing with dolls.

Even my boys as babies loved their boy Cabbage patch kids. I think it helped devlop some of the nurturing skills so missing in many males today.
This doll sounds really cute. Thanks for the tip on the Baby Powder scent. guess the manufacturer wants to make sure it lasts a while. I hope your daughter enjoys her doll for many years to come!
I remember the first year that Cabbage Patch kids came out... I was still a kid myself... My cousin wanted one of these for Christmas and my aunt went crazy looking for one. I am not sure if it was a Black Friday sale or what but she went for the last doll on the shelf and another lady tried to get it from her and they ended up in a fist fight over the darn thing! My cousin got her doll that year... I bet she still has it!
I love Cabbage Patch. My daughter still has the two I bought her when she was young. Thanks for the information.
My daughter had one of these when she was little. It's nice to know they are still around. A classic doll for all little girls!
I still have my cabbage patch doll from when I was young, I don't think these will ever fade out.
Cabbage Patch might have been the beginning of the rediscovery that you don't have to be a fashion model to be adorable and lovable.
It's great to know that Cabbage Patch dolls are still alive and well. If you are ever passing through the North Grorgia Mountains, we have an attraction called babyland general hospital. It is the home of the original cabbage patch dolls and it is free to go in and watch the babies being born everyday. You even get to name them, it's fun.
I can remember my first cabbage patch doll. Her name was Yvonne. I am so suprised I can remember that. I loved my doll. They are some that have been around for a while and will conitue to be.
I have been to the Cabbage Patch Babyland Hospital, and it is a real adventure! We bought a doll there for my daughter. This brought back nice memories!
