Sonic Advance For Game Boy Advance By PC200X on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Does that Dr. Eggman ever learn his lesson? Once again, he's kidnapping Sonic's friends left and right and turning them into robots to do his evil bidding. And of course, once again it's up to our hero Sonic the Hedgehog to set matters straight.

Sonic Advance is the first fully 2D Sonic platformer since Sonic Blast in 1996, and boy, is it good to have it back. The game feels just like the games of old, particularly Sonic 1 and 2. If you've played any 2D Sonic games in the past, you know what it's like. Now, Sonic has upgraded to his new look, and the emotive sprites look great. You'll find yourself blasting through seven action-packed stages, eventually facing down Eggman in one of his famous mechs. Beat the game? Don't forget to gather the seven chaos emeralds so you can face Eggman in the final showdown!

Fans of the Sonic series would not want to pass this game up. It just goes to show you that a tried and true formula can work for a long, long time if you know what you're doing.
