Fans of Sonic the Hedgehog rejoiced when Sonic Mega Collection was announced for the Nintendo Gamecube. Featuring every Sonic game ever released on the Sega Genesis, the game was sure to be a hit for old school fans.

This collection, as has been stated, features all of Sonic's outings on Sega's first game system, the Genesis. Games include Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sonic and Knuckles, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, Sonic Spinball, Sonic 3D Blast, and several unlockable games, including Ristar and Flicky.

This game is worth the price tag just for how convenient it is to have all of these superb games on one disc. Simply flip through the menu and find what game you want to play. The games play just as they did in the old days; the Gamecube controller feels perfectly right to play the games with.

Of course, the games aren't all there is. You can also view various pieces of artwork from the Sonic series, as well as several videos. Nothing particularly outstanding, but some nice additions. Icing on the cake, if you will.

For old school and new school fans alike, this game is a cheap, superb game collection for everyone.

I may pick it up now that its dirt cheap. I like the old Sonic games way more than the new ones.
