Sonic The Hedgehog: Super Sonic Dvd By PC200X on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Sonic the Hedgehog, the cult hit saturday morning cartoon, makes its triumphant debut on DVD. The story of Sonic the Hedgehog in his quest to rid the world of the manical Dr. Robotnik with the help of his freedom fighting friends kicks up in this four episode collection.

That's right, only four episodes. Not much for a show that's been off the air for over a decade. You can tell DiC didn't particularly put a lot of effort into putting this release together. In fact, it's basically two Sonic VHS tapes from the early 90's in DVD packaging. Thankfully, though, the episodes look as good as ever, crisp and clear. Plus, if you play a quiz game and get all the questions right, you get a bonus episode.

Mainly, this DVD is for kids. You can tell from the get go with Inspector Gadget narrating the menu for you. Still, if you're looking for a cheap alternative to the series box set, you can get five nice episodes of the series, as well as teach your kids how to operate a DVD player!
