Sony Dsc W55 7.2 Megapixel Digital Camera By kateri27 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I have owned Sony digital cameras for as long as I can remember. I really like their sleek style and easy handling.
I love the fact that this camera comes in a variety of colors for your personal shooting style. It's easy to understand, easy to use, and so far has presented very little problems.
What I don't like about the DSC-W55 is that it is slow to capture pictures. this results in your subject either blurring, or running out of the frame before the shot is snapped. I found this to be a problem on a previous Sony camera, but I figured that by the time the DSC-W55 came around it would be resolved. I am sad to say I was wrong.
The slow shutter speed is such a problem that this will be the last Sony camera my family will own.

Digital cameras all have shutter lag unless you go to high end ones. Thanks!
We have a Sony and also have problems with it. We want to buy another brand but ours was so expensive that we just can't afford to do so right now.
I also have an older Sony digital camera - I wouldn't trade it for the world! Going on 4 years since we've purchased it and have had NO problems.
I've never had a sony camera before but our last camera also developed slow shutter speed when it got older and the batteries were worn out from years of recharging.
I have a sony DSC-P8, that I have the same problem with. That and the small viewing screen is my only complaints.
thanks for the info - am shopping for a digital right now - will avoid this one!
I've also heard from many of my friends that they have the same problem with blurry pictures. It seems to happen after about a year of use. I own a Nikon and my pictures are beautiful everytime.
If you don't mind a couple of questions... What is the Mega Pixels for this model? How long is the battery life - or how long do you feel that the battery lasts (I can get the approx. number of pics off of a site but they are not always accurate in the real world). Thanks!
