Reviewing: Sony Ericsson W580i
Purchased at: Best Buy

The Sony Ericsson W580i is an amazing phone! It looks really cool and isn't that big. It is only 14 mm thick and long as an Ipod Video. The phone looks really cool, and comes in many colors. It comes in pink, white, red, green, gray, and black. This phone has a ton of features.

Walkman:

The phone comes with the Walkman Player application, this is basically an MP3 player built into your phone! One cool thing about the Walkman feature is that it has shake control. Shake control is a feature that allows you to change the song you are listening to with just a shake of the phone. All Sony Ericsson phones that are not special edition come with speakers. All of the phones come with headphones. This way you can listen to your music three different ways: through the phone, through the headphones, and through the speakers. A memory card is also included in the white, black, and gray phones. I have the green one and I only received the headphones. My mom got the white one and she had a 256-megabyte chip with it. I heard the gray phone comes with a 512-megabyte card. These chips can hold a substantial amount of music or pictures. If your phone does not come with a chip don't worry, I bought a 2-gigabyte chip for my camera for 40 dollars at Bestbuy. The phone comes with a USB cord so you can manage your music. I love this feature because it allows me to be able to listen to music when I want without having to keep an Ipod in my pocket. One thing that I dislike is that the button for the Walkman is on the outside part of the phone, so sometimes the music turns on unexpectedly.

Camera:

The camera is awesome feature the phone has. Sony is an awesome camera company and they used the Cybershot technology to make a great camera for the phone. It has 2 mega pixels, which is quite a lot for a camera phone. I have taken some very nice pictures with this phone. The zoom on the camera is very nice. The phone also has a video camera.

Media Mall:

The Media Mall is the place to go for ringtones and games. They also have free demos in the store, which I find fun when I am bored. Just so you know there are 5 games demo games on the phone Bejeweled, Diner Dash, Lumines, PAC-MAN, and The Sims 2 Pets. All games are powered by Java.

Internet Access:

Unless you subscribe to AT&Ts data plan Internet can get somewhat expensive. If you do get the data plan then you will enjoy the Internet a lot because the connection is very good and is much faster than you would think.

Other Features:

There is a step counter that I enjoy because I do a lot of walking, it also counts the calories burned. There is a video, music, and picture DJ that allows you to edit things that you made. I enjoy this because you can make custom ringtones. There is a sound recorder, calculator, FM radio (need to use the tuner that comes with the phone which can be a little inconvenient), and it also allows you to go on AIM.

I love this phone because it fits all of my needs and pretty much everyone elses. The plans that AT&T has are not that expensive. The data plan can be a little pricey, but in my mind is really not needed. The unlimited texting is awesome and very cheap. There is also roll over minutes, which other services do not offer. The service is excellent. I own a family farm that is basically in the middle of nowhere, and I get 3 bars. There are a few extra features that I do not use because they are expensive and require a subscription fee. Some of these are Music ID and Mobi TV. Music Mate 2 is an application that requires a subscription, but I love because I am into music and it has a tuner and metronome.

The service is inexpensive compared to others. This phone is great and I would recommend it to anyone.
