Sony Mdr Ex51 Lp By Lafawnduh on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

I purchased these earphones in high hopes of sound quality and reliability. I was only satisfied on one front: the sound quality. With the excellent sound insulating design of these earbuds, much of the external noise a listener is subject to is blocked out. Consequently, the sound received from the earphones themselves are isolated and clear. The bass is deeper than traditional earphone designs due to the more invasive design of these earbuds. The most problematic area of this pair is quite simply the durability of the cord. After only about a year of normal wear, the wire began to tear and degrade exposing the internal copper wiring. This is a gross shortcoming of this set and I would not recommend that anyone purchase these unless they are willing to properly store and pay close attention to caring for them.

Too bad the wires didn't hold up, because the rest of the system sounds like it worked really well. Thanks for the info!
