The Playstation 2 is Sony's last-generation home console, released in 2000. It was re-released in 2004 in a super-slim case, which makes it excellent for portability. The PS2 is the most successful video game console of all time, and for good reason.

The PS2 has a vast selection of games, including a number of high-profile exclusives, like Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, and God of War. The console is also backwards compatible with the vast PS1 library.

The console still holds up well graphically 7 years later, with the newest games running in widescreen 480p. There are even a small number of games that run in 720p or 1080i.

The console's popularity has also led to a number of accessories, like the EyeToy and the now-classic Guitar Hero guitars. All of these factors combined make the PS2 an excellent purchase, even 7 years after its original release.
