Sony Playstation 2 By Vnascone By vnascone on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I have been gaming for quite a few years, from the NEC TurboGrafx-16 and the Atari Jaguar to modern consoles like the PS2, and nothing has quite matched the experience my beautiful black box has given me. With thousands of games, the PS2 is unmatched in the amounts of fun it can deliver. It has what is quite possibly the best controller I have ever handled. As for graphics, it is a last gen system, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have a lot of capability. Games like Gran Turismo 4 and Tourist Trophy look almost real. There is also a huge variety of delicious looking 2D games like Disgaea, Makai Kingdom, and others. Network play was a bit of a miss, but most games that have it also have very engaging single and local multiplayer options. Portability is sort of an issue with the older fat model that I have; there is just no easy place to grab ahold of it for long periods. With the new slim models, however, there is no issue. Overall, the PS2 could likely be considered the best home console ever.
