Sony Playstation 2 System By Yangmun Choi on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
The Sony Playstation 2 Entertainment System is one the primary system that competes with the Microsoft Xbox Entertainment System. Numerically it is weaker than an Xbox, but on the contrary the PS2 boasts better games and commitments with better game companies (ie. SquareEnix, etc.).
The Playstation 2 system is decently sized, at about the size of an average VCR player. It can be used either vertically or horizontally. When it is turned on, it produces an average amount of sound, which is, less than my home PC.
It comes with 2 controller ports, 2 memory card ports, and a whole bunch of expansion ports (which I have never used). The controllers are similar to the Playstation's Dual Shock controller, just a little heavier; it also provides pressure sensitive buttons.
The Playstation 2 system mainly dominates this generation's consoles with a solid choice of games. It has games such as the Gran Turismo series, the Final Fantasy Series, and the Metal Gear Solid series. It is definitely an old console worth purchasing, either for sentimental value or for antique entertainment.
