Reviewing: Sony Portable Reader Prs 505

My sister-in-law got this reader for her birthday last year and recently she gave it to my mother-in-law since she also loves to read. Mom already has 150 books in this thing. My husband has been wanting one and I finally took a look. I was VERY impressed with the screen. It almost looks fake because it's so clear!

This reader is very nice and when my mom compared all of the readers out there, she found that the Sony actually can accept more ebooks than other readers on the market. This reader can hold 160 ebooks with its internal memory, which is plenty to bring along anywhere and definitely gives you something to do when you are bored. But mom has a memory card, so she can keep adding to her heart's desire, which she WILL do.

I am considering getting my husband and myself one, mostly for reference in our ministry.

The Sony Reader is very easy to use.
This reader has a silver hard case and an outer brown cover.
The battery is rechargeable and can be done via a USB cable to your computer.
Sony's software has a library where you can store all of your ebooks, transfer back and forth or do what you want.
The display screen is 6 inches with a 180 degree viewing angle.
The full size is 4" x 6".
Power button is on the top left of the unit.
Memory card slot is also on the top.
Sony's Reader gives you 7,500 page turns on a single charge.

I have several screen shots included and you can see that all you do is simply select the button next to the choice you want. It can even hold music and pictures. The internal memory is 256mb, but again, you can use a memory card.

The screen is so easy to read and with the case it's in, it's just like reading a real book that you can slip in your purse, bag or carry along with you.

Finding an author, book title, date you put the book into the reader, etc. is very easy to do.

We truly are impressed with all this reader can do and Sony even claims you can access over 500,000 titles for free via Google's public domain.

I've never seen one of these. How is the type size when you are actually reading a page of a book? Can you compare it to the type size from this comment.? Thanks!

The type size is adjustable so you can go pretty large and definitely larger than what I see on my computer screen, but then again, my monitor is always set to 1600x900. But the tiny button to the top left can be pressed 3 times and go from very small up to the largest that mom uses. I found that someone said the font is Arial 18-20 in size.

And compared to an actual book, the print is larger that she says is like large print books.
