We didn't have internet at my friend's house and this thing has strong network card as my laptop was the only one to pick up a connection. The sound is very loud but not the BEST. My friend's $1200 old DELL must have been an entertainment powerhouse because her laptop manages to DROWN OUT my sound. Has nearly 4 hours of battery life. Plays dvds and video well. I don't know about graphic heavy games as I'm not a gamer. The screen is crisp, bright and clear. I use this laptop to videochat, powerpoint, browse the internet, use itunes and have a couple of chat porgrams open and it never slows down. It is quiet heavey for the average user though but I don't really care about weight as I only use it at home anyways (6.2 lbs). A great laptop for everyday use. This is my first laptop purchase and I'm over the moon about it.
Wow, not a bad price for a Sony - use to own one, was over $2000 but definitely wasn't a heavy weight like this one ;) - my how low Sony has dropped and that's a good thing :) Thanks for the info
Among operating systems, the Windows Vista performed fairly well on Sony Vaio NR160E
