South Beach Living By vsimeone on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

About five years ago, I did the first several phases of the South Beach diet. I did it mostly to jump start myself into eating more healthy as I was eating way too many sweets and had entirely too much sugar in my diet. Weening myself off of sugar was a killer but I knew I had to do it and in the process I lost about 25 pounds over a couple months.

Since that time, I have just been trying to maintain my weight and keep the sugar intake down (that's my real weak spot!). One way that I do this is by having a South Beach meal replacement bar each morning for breakfast. These bars have 210 calories, 19g of protien and 23 vitamins and minerals. They are easy to carry with you and very filling. The most important thing is that they taste good! I like the peanut butter and chocolate flavor the best. I like knowing that I am starting off my day with a healthy dose of protien and it fills me up until lunch time. I'll continue to eat these for breakfast for as long as I can find them in the stores!

Good for you! I am a diabetic, and the South Beach diet is similar to the Sugar Busters plan that I like to use. It is low carb, but with whole grains, beans, veggies, lean meat, etc. It is a good healthy way of eating. I like these bars also!
