Square Foot Gardening How Easy Can It Get? By CountryBoy71 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

“Square Foot Gardening” by Mel Bartholomew is a classic piece on an alternative gardening method. Carefully researched and written, this book presents a great alternative to those who think:

(a) they don't have the space for a garden, or

(b) they don't have the time for a garden.

Bartholomew convincingly shares how just a 4'x4' plot of ground can grow an abudance of fruits and vegetables for your kitchen table.

I actually put this to use a few years ago, in a modified raised-bed garden. While it's not quite as easy as Mel would have us to believe, it is do-able, and if you have the tenacity to stick with it, you can reap the rewards of your efforts (pun intended).

I give this one an ‘A' grade. It comes out with flying colors, and has inspired an entire new generation and method of gardening. If you've ever considered a home garden, start with the “Square Foot Gardening” book as your guide - you won't be disappointed!
