All and all the reciever is ok, But on quite a few occasions the reciever will stall or wont move making channel selection frustrating. It is an older unit but I have had one even older that didn`t behave this way, But it did have strange behavior such as turning off then back on again after a certain amount of time,otherwise working great without the "lag" that I have with this one. It`s almost like the hard drive in the unit needs to catch up. I also have a DVD burner from RCA that seems to work fine but the hard drive in this unit has issues on occasion. While recording if you press the pause button to skip a commercial it will work a couple of times then not come out of pause, freezing up the hard drive and rendering the disk useless. While testing this problem Iv`e lost quite a few disk. I`d have to say RCA should take a look at this issue.
