Stair Master 7000 Pt Step Climber By Lorianna on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Step climbers are probably the best exercising machines for lower body workouts: as you continue to climb stairs, your legs, thighs, and abs work hard, with the weight of your body putting additional strain on the muscles. StairMaster 7000PT is a step climber with 20 difficulty levels; beginners can start climbing as slow as at 30 steps per minute. If this seems too easy, you can adjust your speed by pressing buttons on the console. The console also has a display that shows various data as you exercise – the usual stuff like time, speed & calories, plus how many “floors” you have climbed. I never use high speeds, I find the lower ones quite sufficient: you still get a very good workout, and you do not get out of breath so quickly.

One thing I do not like about this machine is how high the first step is. I find it rather difficult to get on the step climber, and then while I'm on it, I have this irrational fear of falling. I also wish the steps were a little wider, it would make me feel more stable. Thankfully, the climber has side rails you can hold on to, which I do all the time.

I love stair climbers, but I do know what you mean about the 1st step being too high.

I would probably have a fear of the narrow steps as well-you described it so well!!!!!!
