Staples Black Wire Mesh Cd Holder Versatile By Joan Young on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
These boxes work well, and can be stacked in a variety of ways. I've tried four or five different CD storage systems, but they never were adaptable to the space I had.
I've tried various stacking wooden shelves, those towers with slots, and finally was using an eclectic collection of cardboard boxes salvaged from various sources to store my CDs. Then I saw these mesh boxes in the Staples catalog. I've been buying one with each order since I discovered them, and hope to have all my CDs in them soon.
Each box is 5.75 x 6.25 x 11 inches with a handle slot on each end. The mesh is wire, coated in black epoxy. The finish is attractive and much more durable than paint. Each box comes with four sticky-back foam quarter-round feet. These can be stuck on any side of the box, depending on how you want to use it, eg. Side load– like a bookcase, top load– like a drawer, or upright– like a tower.
Each box will hold 25 standard jewel cases, with some finger room left over for removing them. Lots of CDs in envelopes would fit.
I really like how they fit in most any decor, can be used in various orientations, and are modular.
Drawbacks:
I suppose they are limited in that they are not sized so that other types of media are a good fit.

The design of these is very solid. i have always had great luck with Staples wire mesh office supplies, they are simple and clean and look great on my desk.
They seem like a good way to keep your CDs organized.
