Staples CD Envelopes- Cheap, Lightwt, Protective
By Joan Young onI like these so much better than hundreds of bulky jewel cases.
I knew these had to exist, having seen them in use by others, so I went hunting for some to purchase.Found them at Staples. They work great.
These are plain white envelopes with a round window and a cellophane liner on the window. The flap is gummed if you want to lick and seal it.
I keep almost all the CDs that I burn in these envelopes because they take up so much less space than the jewel boxes. If I store a pile of these in an additional box there really isnt much danger of them being damaged or scratched.I think that this is a great way to protect all of the CDs and DVDs that we burn to backup data or store music and media.
You can write on the CD with marker and the label shows through the cellophane window. At about 14 cents each you cant go wrong for inexpensive protection. Each envelope is 5 x 5 inches.
Of course, they are not hard like a jewel case so they dont offer quite as much protection, but for storage at home or office I think they are perfectly fine.

I have a number of these - the ones I have are made of tear proof material - similar to the non-rip envelopes out there. These are great and easy to use. Thanks for the info
I use these for our Pastor's Sermon CDs that we give to our volunteers.
