A storage unit , hidden in the handle is for the pencils, when carrying the unit.The unit is lit with 3 "D " size batteries(not included), which is located inside thetracing desk. The deskunit is made of plastic, which makes it easy to carry, and is small enough for little hands.
My grandson has really gotten alot of use from this. He likes to color, and the pictures are realistic. By using colored pencils we don't have to worry about getting color on his clothes. Another thing we have done is to make copies of the pictures, so he can recolor them, over and over. Good safe unit for kids.
