I opened apersonal savings account at SBI at November 2007 with the help of my father.Minimum deposit amount is Rs.1000(approximately $20).Some fellow account holders warned that reaching zero or low credit may cause to some fines.But I reached that low balance amounts,but they didn't fined,instead they added interest with that low balance amount.To activate the online banking service,the account holder need tocontact their appropriate branches in their area.The respective branches will give the temporary username and password to access the service.Later ,the account holder can alter the username and password according to their choices.From the online banking service,the account holder can set SMS alerts to mobiles.This bank has wide number of ATM machines all over India.For other countries,they may be installed in particular cities.The customer care service is not bad.When I lost my ATM card during travel,I informed immediately to custemer care representatives.At that time,they blocked my stolen ATM card to stop further usage.The ATM card can also be used as Debit Card as labelled in it.But I can't join Paypal account to my debit card.I asked to customer care,but they didn't responded good.They may be not known about Paypal transactions!.This banking service is good for normal users,for advanced users who wish to transfer from online serives it may not good.All over India,this bank service performs good,but for other countries I don't know about this service.
