Step 2 Firetruck Toddler Bed By xshellyx on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

We bought this bed for my 2 year old son when we needed his crib for the new baby. At first, the $199 pricetag was a turn-off. Who wants to spend that much on a bed that your son will use for only a year or so? Let me tell you-it was a great investment!

This bed is not only great looking and fun, but fit every need that we had for the safety of our son. It was easy to assemble and very sturdy when finished. There were a few times that my husband or myself even snuggled up in bed with our son and the bed held up just fine! We really liked how there were sides all around the bed and cutouts for the doors as to prevent falling out of bed (although our son still managed to fall out of the small door one time). The light on top actually works and makes a great nightlight. The best part of the whole thing is how FUN it is for the kids! Our son used it as a bed, climbing gym, and to pretend he was a real fireman. It takes a standard crib matress.

It was a large investment money wise, but we got what we paid for: safety, durability, and hours of play! These also resale very well and you can get a lot of your original investment back to make the price more affordable.

This is such a cute bed for your little boy. I would think it would be lots of fun to play on too. Good to know that it holds your weight too. Snuggling with the kids is always fun!

This is such a cute bed! Looks like something that once he's outgrown you can take the mattress out and let the kiddos use it to play on. I'll have to remember this for my little boy on the way!

This is just too cute. I have never seen a bed like this, but agree I think it is worth the price. Thanks.

I agree with Bosoxy on this. It does almost still function as a crib, but has all the looks feel and sturdiness of a big boy bed. And with good resale values, the $199.00 tag is reasonable, given the quality.
