Step on these Rotors!
By cnt24 onWhile replacing the wheel hub assembly on our Ford truck, we found the old brake rotors to be extremely rusted and warped. We decided to do a brake job and replace the old rotors with Duralast brake rotors.
The new rotors are cross cut, which is supposed to offer better grip and keep the rotor cooler on braking. Compared to other rotors we bought at AutoZone (Valuecraft), which were not cross cut, they do perform better. Keeping the rotor cooler should also help to prevent warping and make the rotors last longer.
After we performed the work, I drove the truck to check out the job. I found the brakes to operate smoothly. There was no shimmy in the front end, which was evident prior to replacing the old rotors.
I have been driving with the Duralast rotors in heavy stop and go traffic and have not noticed any problems braking. There is no rub or lag. The best overall improvement in braking performance is the lack of the shimmy on braking.
We are considering replacing the Valuecraft rotors in the other truck with Duralast rotors now. As a driver of both vehicles, I can attest there is a difference between the two in price, quality, and performance.
The Duralast rotors come with a 1-year warranty.

After seeing seemingly a plethora of Duralast commercials, I've always wondered how good of a brand Duralast really is, and this review has answered precisely that. Thanks for sharing!
Wow - just seeing the word "rotor" gave me chills. I remember when my Kia Sportage just stopped moving when my rotors locked up. Thank God we had pulled into a parking lot where a Tire Kingdom was located. They got replaced the following morning but that was not a pleasant experience at all.
