Stephen Malkmus And The Jicks Real Emotional... By ButtProblem on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Stephen Malkmus was the lead singer and song writer for the very influential indie-group from the 90's, Pavement. Their new album known as Real Emotional Trash features many of the aspects of the old pavement sound - Malkmus seems to either be mumbling about while the groaning guitar plays in the background or he's clearly singing his catchy tunes. The album sounds somewhat like The Velvet Underground or Yo La Tengo, but it defiantly has a fairly unique sound. The CD has only 10 songs but most of them are quite long (~4 minutes, one reaching 10 minutes long) and the CD is quite good for anyone who likes the Pavement sound (The mixture of Velvet Underground and Quicksilver Messenger Service that is known as Stephen Malkmus). This CD is defiantly one to pick for anyone who enjoys Pavement.
