Reviewing: Stila Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer
Purchased at: Sephora, Macy's     Price: $30.00 USD

In my search for a tinted moisturizer, to give me a little skin color without the feeling of a heavy foundation, I tried, and bought, Stila Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer.Like Stila's Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer, it comes in a wide array of shades, and contains a sunscreen with an SPF of 15.

It goes on slightly heavier than the Sheer Colormoisturizer. This may be because it contains light-reflecting particles. Those particles make the skin glow, and this is the tinted moisturizer I'd recommend for older women. The oils in this moisturizer are mostly natural oils, from vegetable rather than petroleum sources, and it is very gentle. It provides more coverage than Stila's Sheer Color moisturizer, but still less than a foundation, so if you are trying to cover something up, you'll either have to add a concealer, or stick with real foundation. It has a scent similar to Stila's other moisturizer, and includes Avobenzone, a fragrant plant extract that provides the sun protection.

I have mixed feelings about this product.I like the scent, and I like the way it looks on my skin; it does provide a glow missing from some tinted moisturizers. But Stila's Illuminated Moisturizer is as heavy as some lightweight foundations, without the benefit of their coverage, and that weight is what I was trying to avoid by using a tinted moisturizer. For the price, you might be better off considering a light-weight foundation.
