My family and I took a trip over spring break and ended up in Atlanta, Georgia. We drove approximately 16 miles east of downtown Atlanta. You pay an entry fee of $8.00 and once in the park you can purchase a wristband that allows you access to everything. This wristband includes a 4D theater, meaning you not only see things you smell them, your seat vibrates, you have wind blown on you and water, it is a very interesting and awesome experience! There is restaraunts, ice cream shops, candle shops, glass shops, it is a miniature town from yesteryear. The wristband also alows you to ride a train that takes you all of the way around Stone Mountain. As if the Stone Mountain that is 825 feet tall is not amazing enough , there is also a carving in the side of the mountain. The carving is Cival War heros including Jefferson Davis, General Robert E. Lee, and Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson. It measures 90 feet by 190 feet, the carved area covers three acres which is larger than a football field! It is also 42 feet deep into the mountain side. You can also get a certificate that shows you climbed this mountain. It was a great trip and hope to do it again. If you make it to Atlanta by all means it is worth the trip.
