Storkcraft Convertible Crib
By reneecancun02 onWe bought the Storcraft rochester Convertible crib for our youngest daughter. This is a crib that changes from the standard baby crib, to a toddler bed, and then to a full size bed.We bought it in the oak color. It has a storage drawer underneath to store blankets or whatever in.It comes with the additional pieces to make it in to the full size bed when you want to do that.
When we originally got the crib, we had some trouble with the 'headboard' piece and one of the sides. Both of them had cracks all the way through the wood.I called the number on the package and was told they would ship 2 new pieces to me.After 4 weeks, still no parts.Called again and was told that they would express ship them. After the second call, we received the parts in 1 week. The replacement parts that were received were in great shape and we put the bed together.
For the price of the crib, the quality of the material is nice.Keep in mind it's not going to be the best wood because you're not paying high dollar for it.But we found it very satisfactory. The front piece of the crib has a plastic liner on the top for teething babies which I love.It keeps your wood from getting chewed up.
There is a drawer on the bottom of the crib that we are not too happy with.It seems to not want to stay on the tracks. We will put it on the tracks and then the first time you go to open it again, it comes off the tracks again.Other than the drawer, we are very pleased with the bed.We do still have it set up as a crib at this time but I'm sure we will love it as a toddler bed and then as a full size bed also.

This is a nice crib/bed & really, for $200 you're getting two beds so kiddo, you did good!! I know what you mean about the bottom drawer coming out of its tracks as we had a similar bed.
I purchased a convertable crib when my daughter was born. As she grew we changed it from a crib to a toddler bed and then to a single. When our son was born we were then able to turn it back to a crib again for him. It was great to have a piece that saved us from buying another crib and we got our moneys worth from it. Sorry to hear about the cracks and that it took 2 calls to resolve it but it sounds like it all worked out for you.
Thats too bad about the drawer not working out, that should of been one of the good points when looking for one only to be dissapointed ;(
My husband & I are trying to get pregnant & are considering getting a convertable crib too. Do you have to buy all the pieces at once to convert it later...I would think that would rack up the price more if you did, but if you didn't & later they discontinued that bad, you wouldn't be able to convert it. Just some thoughts we had...
I should have gotten something like this rather than the crib we went with. It sound great.
It sounds like a nice piece of furniture.. I like that you can use it for longer than just a crib. Thanks for sharing your experiences with this product!
We bought this same crib, from wal mart as well. We have had the same problem with the drawer, plus it is not very sturdy. We had it shipped to the store and the first time they shipped it the box was horrible and the wood was even showing through! We refused the shipment and they had to ship it again. Overall though it has been great for the price.
