Suave Kid's 2 in 1 Shampoo
By maryelser onI have two little girls who both have long thick hair that tangles easily. When my youngest, who is three, kept crying because of all the tangles in her hair, I knew I had to find a good detangling shampoo. I have found over the years that you don't have to buy expensive products to find a "good buy". I often use Suave products myself and have found most of them to work very well.
The detangler I bought was not expensive, which is good because I am on a tight budget. The scent is Wild Watermelon and it smells great. It is also tear free- which is a must. I have to say though, I was a little disappointed the morning after I first used it. When I started brushing my five year old's hair for school, her hair was just as tangled as ever. I had used detangling sprays on them before and they worked better. Maybe the shampoo just doesn't work as well as the spray? What ever the reason, I will not buy anymore of that particular Suave product.

I agree that Suave does make some decent products that are sold at a very competitive price. It is too bad that your daughters hair was very tangled after the wash, however... perhaps it was a bit too drying for her? What I do for my hair to get away from the conditioning sprays is to add just a touch of regular conditioner to the center back and ends of my hair. It really helps with the comb out and adds a nice bounce and shine.
When my daughter was a little girl her hair was much the same as your little girls hair. Detangler spray works much better than shampoo in my opinion.
We often use Suave as it generally does a decent job for an excellent price. Geri, glad to hear I'm not the only one that uses detangler on my dog...my family thought I was nuts when I did that...but it DOES work! Mary, that is weird that it did not have a lasting effect. Lots of people shower at night and it should definately still "work" the morning after...I'd try a different product too.
We used it on our Irish Setter Poppy! It worked better on the dog than it did on my children:) I love the shampoo, but found that the spray on de-tangler works ever so much better.
I don't use Suave products, but I do believe a detangler spray would work better. Using a wide tooth comb will also help with tangles. Hope you find a product that works for your girls.
This is good information to know. Thanks for sharing it.
I had the same problem growing up. Was hoping this worked I remember how miserable I was when my mom would try to comb my hair. Thanks
I have used Suave shampoo and liked it, but I didn't find it helped detangle my curly mop. I agree, I think the spray is probably better and a viable solution.
