Sugar Free Oreos By Karen on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

My husband has to watch his sugar intake because of being a diabetic, so he was happy to see that Oreos came in a sugar free variety. He likes them and says they are pretty good, but he probably won't be getting any more. The reason? Because we paid $2.98 at Walmart for what amounted to sixteen cookies. That's a little expensive.

Two cookies have 100 calories, 5 grams of total fat, 0 mg of cholesterol, 110 mg of sodium, 16 grams of total carbohydrate, and 0 grams of sugars, with 7 grams of sugar alcohol. One thing I don't like about sugar free foods is the fact that they can have a laxative effect on you if you eat a lot. For a sensitive individual, it doesn't even take a lot. There is a warning on the back of the box that excess consumption may have a laxative effect.

My husband tells me that the sugar free Oreos taste pretty much like regular Oreos. But he doesn't like the idea of paying almost three bucks for just sixteen cookies. I'm not too crazy about that either. So every once in a while he may get these, but not on a regular basis.
