Suit Up!
By vsimeone onI don't wear a suit for work so I really don't have much experience with them but last summer, I had an opportunity to interview for a new position in higher education and thought it would be appropriate to wear a suit.Unfortunately, the only one that was in my closet was something out of the 80's with huge sholder pads and I really didn't think that would leave the impression that I was after.I shopped at all of the major retailers and everything that I looked at seemed as if it was made for professional women in their 70's or something.I just wasn't happy and was going to resort to just a blouse and black skirt until I walked in T.J. Maxx. They had a huge assortment of Tahari suits sold as separates. It was very easy to mix and match sizes which is what I needed to do since I'm smaller on top than on the bottom.I was most pleasantly surprised by the price - only $99!
I wish I could say that the suit was responsible for me getting the new position and changing my life, but I didn't get the job.I'm sure it wasn't the fault of the suit though and now I'm ready for the next time an opportunity comes up for an interview!

Quesadilla: Those who prefer quesadillas are content being one of the crowd; they are loyal followers more than leaders. At work they are the foot soldiers, task-oriented, functioning ideally in a group. They don't require individual praise, but share their successes with those around them. In romantic relationships they invest extraordinary effort and energy to ensure the relationship's vitality and stability. Some examples of this personality include: Talia Shire as Adrianne in "Rocky" and Bill Murray as Bob Wiley in "What About Bob?" Those who prefer quesadillas are most romantically compatible with people who prefer tacos.
Seems like a really sensible option for purchasing suits!
ha! love your first comment kateri27:0)....vsimeone, I know EXACTLY what you mean about looking for a suit! Isn't it aweful:0) I had the same problem when I interviewed for my current job:0) Everything I found was either too "old", too "young", too expensive or just plain ugly! So glad you found something!
Not a bad price. Got this in the post, so please return a favor! I posted 4 there. But i feel, yours are better! WW-V:)
I keep forgetting about T.J. Maxx. Thanks for the reminder!
TJ Maxx has some great clothes and nice prices. Like you, I don't wear suits to work, but I probably need to update my wardrobe some in case I do need one. Thanks for the tip on the brand.
GREAT price on a Tahari suit!!! I'm sorry you didn't get the job but I know you looked sharp & professional!!
I should have a suit but I don't. It is harder to find a nice suit when you are plus sized though. What sizes did this suit go up to? Probably a 14?
I think everyone should have at least one suit in their closet.
This sounds like a great suit and the price on it was great too! Sorry that you didn't get that job but at least you have a nice suit because of the interview!
