Each year, my girlfriend and I meet in Chicago for a "girls weekend out." This year, we stayed in the All Suites, Omni Hotel on Michigan Ave. Of course, the hotel is home of guests of the Oprah Winfrey show so it is on the "upscale" side. We got a great rate through the Entertainment book so it didn't cost us much more to stay at the Omni than it did to stay at the Sheraton Four Points last year!
The check-in desk is on the third floor of the hotel so they really screen the people coming in off the street before allowing someone into the hotel area. That bit of security is piece of mind in the big city. The rooms are spacious. Ours had two full beds and a separate living room area. The location can't be beat as it is in the heart of the Magnificant Mile for shopping, eating and entertainment. My friend had the foresight to join the Omni's reward program before we arrived which allowed us to have free beverages from room service each day as well as free high speed Internet in the room.
The business center is wonderful. During our stay, there was a huge snowstorm at home so I used the business center frequently to check the status of my flight and then to print my boarding pass when it was time for us to leave. The staff is also very accomodating. There is a restaurant and lounge in the hotel and although the drinks were quite expensive, the service was wonderful and it was a very relaxing experience.
I hope if you are traveling to Chicago anytime soon that you will consider the Omni Suites for your accomodations!

I'm definitely going to check this out as we are planning a trip to Chicago this summer. I have an Entertainment book too and thanks for the heads on joining the rewards program, I am all for those!!
We stayed at the Omni Suites in San Antonio a few years back and were really impressed with it. We had a great weekend there.
I've heard loads of nice things from friends who travel and stay with Omni. I'm impressed by their attentiveness and the upscale feel of their rooms. what a great place to stay when travelling for business too:)
Sounds like it might be pricey, but if you're in with a few friends it could be fun to stay somewhere that nice. Thanks for sharing your experience with this hotel!

My sister and I have stayed a couple of Omni hotels in various cities and have always been very very pleased! And a girls weekend sounds so much fun! Can I join?! lol
