Sunbeam Electric Blanket With Dual Controls By Lorrie on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Last winter after a few cold nights in a chilly bedroom, I decided it was time for an electric blanket. Christmas morning I awoke to find that my wonderful husband and children had purchased one for me. WOW! What a thing to have gone 33 years without having. I plugged the blanket in the first night and put the controls on each side of the bed, one for me and one for my husband. I set mine to about 5 and soon found that I don't need to be quite that warm. My husband decided he didn't need to be warmer at all, so he left his off. There you have the beauty of two controls. I have found that if I turn my blanket on about 15 minutes before I get into bed, it's like sleeping on sheets that have just come from the dryer. We all know how good that feels on a cold winter day. I have washed this blanket on gentle a few times and have dried it with no problems whatsoever. All you need to do unplug the cords and wash it like any other blanket. The only disadvantage I have found is that the blanket does not turn off after a certain amount of time. I think it would be a good deal if they automatically turned off after 7 or 8 hours, but they don't so you just have to remember to shut them off. It would not be a good idea to get one of these for kiddos because they will invariably leave it on for days at a time if you don't go in their room every day to check it out. If you're looking for a way to stay warm on winter nights, the Sunbeam dual control electric blanket it the way to go.
