Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros 3 By ExplosiveAmnesia on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros 3 is an updated port of the classic Super Mario Bros 3 for the NES.

The most obvious change to the game is the upgraded graphical style. In my opinion, it looks even better than the Super Mario All-Stars remake for the SNES. However, there are also some gameplay changes made in this version.

This game does not suffer from the rather awkward control changes of Super Mario World on the GBA, since the original used only two buttons. However, they made the same gameplay changes, allowing you to stockpile lives and revert only one level when hit by an enemy. In my opinion, these changes make the game a bit too easy, although they are clearly there in order to make it easier for new players.

Again, if you can deal with the lessened difficulty level, this is a very nice port of a classic platformer.

At least its kid friendly. At this point I think the price is probably significantly cheaper if you buy it used.
