At firs I thought that this would be a nice item to put on a baby registry, since you will be able to keep your baby confined to a certain area when playing outside and they can still sit on the grass and have fun. I quickly changed my mind after recieving the item. I really did not like the idea of caging my child up while they are outside. The whole point of taking them outside in my opinion is to let them explore and walk around. This obviously means more work for mom and dad but it is really worth it. I found that it is a lot better to take along your portable playpen instead of the using the playard. Most kids quickly becoming tired of exploring and thy may want to lay down for a nap or just relax and have a bottle, which is what the play pen is for. With the play yard you they cant take a nap unless you lay out a blanket and they sleep on the grass but that can be really uncomfortable for most kids. I would not recommend this product for anyone
