Purchased at: Walmart     Price: $11.88 USD

After bringing my son home from the hospital, we tried over and over again to swaddle him in a blanket the way the nurses did, but we could never get it to stay very well. Then we found the Swaddle Me.This swaddling blanket is designed so that you can easily keep your baby swaddled. It comes in lots of colors and patterns and several fabric choices.Ours was cotton knit, but they also have microfleece and cotton flannel.

The way it works is that there is a "pocket" to put your baby's feet in and then two large flaps that wrap around the arms and velcro closed. We did find that it is easier to swaddle him with his arms straight down at the sides, instead of bent with hands out. My son felt cozy and secure in this swaddling position and never fought his way out.In fact he was usually calmer and slept longer when swaddled.

The Swaddle Me is machine washable and holds up really well.It even comes in small and large sizes, which is great for those fast growing babies like ours was.I tried a lot of different swaddling blankets and this one was by far my favorite. It was one of the least expensive ones too. This is a wonderful product for newborns!

I wish they made these when my kids were little. We would bundles them up in their blankets and in a few minutes they were open again. They loved it when they were wrapped up and were happy but it never lasted long. I love the idea that velcro holds it closed, now why didn't I think of that?

Ahhh the ever elusive infant burrito. Man they are amazing at the hospital. Glad to see you found another option.

A good swaddling blanket can save you hours when trying to console a screaming infant. We had this type of swaddler for Cam, donated by neo-natal intensive care. He loved being held so securely, and would calm down in moments. It is good to see they offer these for sale now because they truly are a big help for new parents.

The swaddling blanket certainly sounds like a "new mommy' necessity!

My baby was soooo tiny since he was a premie that I had plenty of blanket to work with and did not have any trouble swaddling him. But for a term baby, this sounds like a GREAT thing. Hmmmm, it would make a great baby shower present :0)

Swaddling can be so soothing for a baby, glad to hear there is a product that can make it easier to swaddle your baby in!

I love these! I had two of the microfleece ones for when my baby was born. They are easy to use and wash well just like you said. My baby is now 3 months and I still swaddle her occasionally, like when she's fussy and overtired. Unfortunately, she's outgrown the two I have and I haven't gotten around to getting the larger size. These make great gifts for moms to be.

Oh how I wish I had these years ago-I just could never get the swaddle tight enough!!!! Hospitals should give these to all new mommies!

Hey! I have this lol. I got it at my shower. But no matter what my daughter hated having her hands down. We put her in it a few times with her hands out but it just never worked for us. She is just too wiggly lol.
