I picked up the 2 Disc special edition, it comes in a really slick case and slip cover.
Johnny Depp has a knack of pulling off any role or character he attempts, and does it really well.
I did not realize that this movie was going to be a musical, but I enjoyed it anyway. Keep in mind that this movie is rated R, for graphic, bloody violence.
This is a Tim Burton film and like Johnny Depp anything he touches is a twisted success.
I do not want to give away too much about the film so you can enjoy it as a viewer yourself, but be ready for a fast paced, opera like musical.
Johnny Depp's character is a man who was sent away to prison and once he escapes some 15 years later, his family is no where to be found. He seeks revenge on those who he felt took his life away from him. And he succeeds.
I give this movie a well deserved 5!
I've wondered if this was a good movie or not. I just might have to check it out thanks to your good praises of it. :o) And I agree almost anything Johnny Depp touches turns to gold.
Yes if you don't mind musicals or lots of gore this is a good movie. I wish it had a little more dialogue just to break it up a little but other than that it was good.
I found this a very dark movie, though as an adult I enjoyed Johnny Depps performance very much. I had trouble with the musical during the first part, but as the movie settled in it became more enjoyable. This is NOT a movie for children.
I've been meaning to watch this movie. I absolutely love Alan Rickman, even if he always plays the bad guy.
I do know the story and I am looking forward to seeing this movie on DVD. I live Tim Burton's work and I am a fan of Johnyy Depp.

I've not seen this movie yet, but I have seen the play. Johnny Depp certainly does not shy away from the eccentric characters. I always enjoy his movies with those type of characters.
