Sweet!!! But No Sugar By Sparkle333 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Having Diabetes is no fun, but my LifeScan One Touch Ultra Mini Glucose Meter is small enough to tuck into my purse, so that my testing supplies are always near when I need them. The meter gives a very quick, accurate reading within 5 seconds, and the test strips used with it only require a small sample of blood. It is simple to code, and easy to read the results. It also comes with its own lancing device and lancets, or you can use any lancet device you prefer.
For me, the small, colorful meter (mine is called Pink Glow) feels less medical and boring than the old standard meters. It also comes in other happy colors, such as Limelight, Jet Black, and Silver Moon. How cool is that?
The price is very reasonable, compared to larger meters (which are sometimes $70.00 to $80.00). There's just something about this neat little machine that makes you feel good, and as a diabetic, I welcome that every chance I get! I can't wait to get Limelight next!

Diabetes took a great friend of mine. Having updated equipment and having it tested are very important to eal with this condition. I hope you remember to test your electronics regularly! :)
This sounds great. I remember my grandmother using little strips to test her urine -- diabetic supplies have come a long way! I'm glad you found something you like and will use. Having watched my grandmother, I know how important it is to know your blood sugar level. (I'm just hoping I don't end up with diabetes too, since it does tend to skip generations; I'm telling myself that I'd have it by now if I were going to!)
My FIL uses this faithfully-I'm glad you have this for yourself!
I love how they come in colors! I have a different meter, but I have seen these and I like how portable they are.
Great to have something small, inconspicuous, and colorful. Any little perk helps, I would think.
This sounds like a great monitor. Thanks for sharing.
