T Mobile Wing The Almost I Phone Killer By The_GPT_Reviewer on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Everyone likes the iPhone, and who can blame them; it's sleek, small, and on the cutting edge of technology. What's not to like right? Well, how about price, or the fact that it's locked to one carrier, or maybe the lack of 3rd party applications?

Capitalizing on these weaknesses is the T-Mobile Wing, a Windows Mobile 6 based phone with plenty of bells and whistles. The most striking part of the phone is a slide-out, full QWERTY keyboard. Of course you can always use the touch screen, but if you're like me you appreciate the tactile response of actual keys.

Since the Wing is WM6 based, you can hack it to your heart's content with very little effort, ditto for free third party applications. In this sense, it's everything the iPhone isn't. All of this customization doesn't affect the quality of the phone, but fortunately it's already terrific. The reception is great, the battery life is among the longest I've ever used, and it has all the bells and whistles of any modern phone.

So what's not to like? Well, it weighs a ton compared to most cell phones. It's also sort of fragile; I've already chippped the paint finish. If neither of those two qualities concern you however, then you'll be as happy with this phone as I am!
