T3 Featherweight Hairdryer By rogue34 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

The T3 Featherweight is a salon quality hairdryer that has a Tourmaline ceramic heater for superquick drying. The T3 dryer weighs only 13 ounces so your arms don't get tired while you are using it. At 10 feet the cord length is great. You can dry both sides of your head without having to turn around! The motor is quiet compared to the drugstore variety hairdryers I have owned before. I've noticed that the airflow from this hairdryer is much less forceful as well. You have more control over styling your hair as it is not blowing all over the place. The T3 is advertised as drying hair 60% faster than usual because "Tourmaline negative ions break down water molecules into tiny droplets that evaporate faster and at the same time the far infrared energy heats the hair not the air". I'm not sure about the science behind this claim, but the T3 does dry your hair faster. The faster drying is mostly because the air is HOT! There are two different speeds of Low and High but the only control over the heat is to use the Cool Shot feature. You have to be careful not to leave the air flowing against your hair in one spot for too long because the air is so hot. Also when removing the plastic concentrator nozzle, it's important for it to cool off first or to use a cloth to remove it. The nozzle gets very hot whereas the rest of the dryer does not.

The pluses for this hairdryer for me are the light weight, quiety motor, long cord, fast drying and the cool shot button.

The minuses are the extreme heat of the dryer, the nozzle getting too hot, and in the short run, the price. In the long run, the use of the dryer may justify the price.

I believe you can find this hairdryer for a lesser price now. A friend of mine (who is a professional stylist) snagged one at a hairshow for $90! Also, the travel version is less expensive. And it has the benefit of the folding handle.

Ouch! $200? Wow...I have one that sounds like this one's features and costs alot less. I also have the HOT setting that dries my hair really fast. I have to keep pulsing cool shots to keep it from burning my head and my hair. That's one of the things I really think they need to work on...we shouldn't have to burn our hair to dry it quickly!

Wow, this is an expensive hair dryer! A professional hair dryer would be nice to have, but I can't justify spending this much to dry my hair. I'm sure your insight on the T3 Featherweight hair dryer will help others who are interested in this model.

I'm in the market for a new hair dryer. This one sounds great but the price is so high. I will have to check it out in Sally's though, now I'm curious.

Wow - $200? I may look around and see if I can pick up one on ebay for less. I've used products from Sally's for years and have to say that they sell really good products. The hairdryer sounds fantastic - I burn through them really quick (long hair), so you make a good point - it may come out ok in the end!

Wow this sounds awesome! Lightweight and quiet, just what I've always wanted in the hair dryer. A little too pricey for me though. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I can see that these hair dryers are very different. Im not sure about the tech, but this one works well. Beats the big old mitt sized blower. :)

Boy do I need a new dryer! This one sounds great, but is a bit expensive.

This sounds like a nice hair dryer but the price is pretty steep. It sounds like this would work great for people with very thick hair.

Since my hair is thin, it wouldn't probably be worth the extra price, but for someone like my daughter with thick hair, this would really speed up the drying process!
