Taboo Taboo Review By Dadof2 Disneyboys By Dadof2Disneyboys on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
We have had the word game Taboo for as long as I can remember. It is a really fun game for adults. My wife and I used to play it with friends a lot when we had game nights. We haven't played it a lot just recently because since then we have all had kids and don't get together with friends as much.
I am not sure of the exact price, but I think it was around $15.00 or so at WalMart. The rules are pretty simple. You play 2 against 2. You get a card with a word on it and you need to describe that word and try to get your partner to guess what that word is, but the trick is that there are also 5 other words on the card that you are not allowed to use when describing the original word. So that makes it challenging and fun! Of course the words that you aren't allowed to use are the first things that pop into your head when you see the original word! There is a little hourglass too, so you only have a certain amount of time to get your point.
I think this could be a fun game for kids too. Our 9 year old could definitely understand and play it, but we are waiting on our 6 year old to be able to read a little bit better and then we can play this game as a family.
Milton Bradley Taboo Purchased at: WalMart Price: around $15

Oh my, I haven't played Taboo in a long time! It is a lot of fun. Reading your description makes me want to go and play it again
I've seen Taboo and really never had any idea what kind of game it was. Thanks for the info. I bet our family would love this game.
Hmmm, never played this game. Sounds different!
We have this game, but we haven't played it in a very long time. Thanks for sharing the information. I may have to dig it out and play it again. I do remember enjoying it.
I've played this in groups of adults. It's a lot of fun, and sometimes so hard not to goof and use the forbidden words! Embarrassing for people who are not good with words, however.
This sounds like a fun game! Thanks for sharing!
Love this game. My brother and our 2 best friends would pair up in any combination and go head to head for hours! Ah, the good 'ol days... :)
