Tae Guk Gi By Shawn on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Every war film that's been made carries a message beyond all of the blood and guts that's spilled across the screen. Whether out loud or subliminally they all call out the purpose of war and ask us why we push ourselves as a society into this hell. Tae Guk Gi is no different, but it does add something more to a war that has been largely ignored by mainstream Hollywood.

Tae Guk Gi tells the story of two brothers that wind up in the Korean War and the struggles it forces on the both of them. Time and time again they battles they take part in are harrowingly realistic and with many accounts of the war, the battles degenerating into hand to hand combat are spot on.

Ultimately, Tae Guk Gi will leave you with something that you didn't have upon seeing it or perhaps it might simply remind you of something that you've forgotten.
