Taking It All In Stride With In Stride Shoes By Jan Mayrhofer on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

If you happen to have a job that requires you to stand on your feet for eight hours or more a day, then you need to make sure you have real good shoes to support yourself. From the tips of your toes to your ankles, knees, and back, shoes can make all the difference in the world. Good mental health goes right along with it too. If your feet hurt all day, then you can't put on a genuinely happy face no matter how hard you try.

Every time I need new work shoes, I take my time and spare no expense because I've learned over the years just how important it is to wear good shoes.

This year, I found a new brand. They are called IN STRIDE. These shoes are uncommonly comfortable. Usually, there is a breaking-in period that must be endured with new shoes. That was not even the case with these shoes. When I tried them on at the store I was immediately sold. They were soft and comfy from the first time I slipped my feet into them.

These shoes have a very interesting feature that I've never seen in a shoe before. They actually have three insoles. The reason for this is to provide the ability to adjust the fit to your particular foot size. Many shoes I have tried tend to squeeze my toes from above, though they fit my foot perfectly otherwise. With the In Stride system, I was able to adjust the fit perfectly so that nothing at all touches my toes and that is just the way I like it.

I use an orthotic which I've had for years now. With the In Stride shoe, I can remove the insoles in order to place the orthotic inside first. This feature is a must for me and it can be difficult to find shoes that allow for your orthotics. In Stride shoes will work both ways – with or without orthotics.

Unfortunately, they are not exactly pretty. But that has been true of every decent pair of work shoes I've owned. When it comes to comfort at work, fashion plays no role whatsoever.

I'm happy with my In Stride shoes and I recommend them to anyone looking for a way to forget about their feet while focusing on their job.

I don't think they are ugly. Certainly they are better looking than Crocs LOL! They look very comfortable. Are they leather?

Jan Mayrhofer

Yes, they are leather and my feet don't sweat at all. I guess I've been wearing them for about 6 weeks now, and I just love 'em!

These look really good. I may look into them.
