Target Red Card By Mom2One on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I am not a fan of credit cards usually. But I do enjoy the perks of the Target Red Card.
Target has a Pharmacy award program when using your Red Card.
After filling 10 prescriptions and using your Red card to pay for them you will get a coupon in the mail for a 10% off shopping day at Target.
My son has asthma so I get refills on 3 of his medicines every month, usually there are other medicine I need filled. It usually takes me no more then 3 months to get my 10% off day.
I don't like the fact that I have to put it on my Red card but I have learned that if I just put the prescriptions on the credit card, I can pay it off when the bill arrives in the mail. So it really is a win/win for us.
The interest rate is high on this card, just like any other store credit card. I believe it is around 22%, but if you pay it off every month you don't have to worry about the interest rate.
When I signed up I did get a 10% off shopping day.
I really didn't need this credit card but I figured that since I need to get prescriptions filled anyway I ought to get in on the 10% off perk.

Good information on this card and its rate,
That really is the key to making a card work for you, rather than the other way 'round. Pay it off every month avoiding that atrocious interest rate, and cashing in the rewards:)
Glad you are making the card work for you. Lots of people can get into credit card debt very easily. I didn't realize Target had this program. Thanks for sharing.
22% - good grief! That is high! I am like you and try not to use credit cards - and I always refuse those at the counter offers of 10% off my purchase that day. Now if there were other perks like the getting additional 10%s it might be worth it. I'd rather they just give me cash back though LOL!
Looks like it is very good card if we always go to the Pharmacy to get our supply.
