Tasty Citrus Flavored Botan Rice Candy From Japan! By Mia Blaisdell on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I discovered this candy on my very first trip to Super H grocery store here near Atlanta. In case some of you aren't familiar with Super H, it's a grocery store that is geared primarily to the Asian culture, with a majority of foods and such from Japan, China, etc., although they do carry a small amount of foods and products from other cultures as well, (American, Spanish and such)
This particular candy is Botan Rice Candy and it is from Japan. I absolutely love it! It's made from sweet rice and is in small bite sized pieces. It's chewy like taffy and has this great lemon/orange citrus flavor and each piece also is wrapped in a edible rice "paper" wrapper that melts in your mouth. I know it sounds a bit unusual, I'm sure if you tried it, you'd definitely enjoy it!
The package is a 3/4 oz. size and holds 6 pieces of candy, and in each box there is a children's sticker, something I'm sure small kids would enjoy. So if you have a Asian grocery near by or specialty store / Super H, drop in and give these a try!
