Taylor Swift....A refreshing anti-Britney

In the eyes of my 8 year old daughter and her friends, singer Taylor Swift is like a princess.She beautiful and talented, with famous friends including Miley Cyrus, Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler.At just 19, she's won multiple awards and traveled the country for concert tours and celebrity appearances.She gets to wear gorgeous fashions created by well-known designers and appears in her music videos looking like she's having a fantastic time.My daughter and her friends cannot get enough of Taylor!So when a trip to the bookstore brought this paperback to my daughter's attention, we decided to get it.

At first, you might think that an "unauthorized biography", as this book is billed on its cover, might be a tad inappropriate for an 8 year old girl.This particular book is actually intended for ages 8 and up!And I can tell you that Taylor herself is highly conscious of her youngest fans, and works very hard to live up to the responsibility ofbeing a role model for the legions of little girls who look up to her.Pretty darn mature for a girl her age!

The 128 pages of this book provide hundreds of little pieces of info about Taylor, but there's nothing salacious or voyeuristic about it.Rather, it shows how despite her current life of glamour and glitz, Taylor is still a teenage girl who giggles about boys and goes to the mall with her friends.This book, which includes 4 pages of color photos, provided my daughter with a safe but fascinating peek inside the life of her favorite singer.If you have a Taylor fan in your midst, they'll want to check this out too!
