I received this silverware set as a gift recently. I am newly pregnant for the first time and this silverware set put a smile right on my face. They are very cute and beautiful!
This set includes a silver fork, knife, and spoon, satin cloth liner, and a wood display box with a glass window. On the tops of the silverware, there is a solid silver teddy bear with a little bow tie. The teddy bears have some detail etched in them to give them a more realistic look.
Each piece of silverware is weighted very well. They appear to be made to actually use as silverware and hold up to many uses, but I plan on using them as a keepsake. They are solid silver, so they will not flake if they were used as silverware.
The only thing I do not like is that the silverware is not secured in the box in any way. Laying down, the silverware stays in place just fine, but when I try to sit them up (as to hang on the wall), they shift around and fall over. Also, the cover to the box does not latch closed. I'm afraid that if I try to sit the box up without the silverware being secured, they may push the box open and fall out.

What a beautiful set. It will be a great thing for your baby to use now and then pass on to his or her children later.
Maybe your hubby can fix that box so it closes with a small latch. It's a really nice gift and will make a great tradition to pass along in your family.
I was just thinking that Tink! A small silver toned latch might work. I agree that these are more heirloom items than for everyday use. Maybe you could stitch in silver toned elastic to hold the pieces in place too. This is a beautiful way to comemorate a new baby's arrival into the family.
Beautiful set. Since it's really silver you could let baby use the spoon a bit and then mount them for display without any real damage. To me, it would be more special knowing that it was actually used. We have a baby spoon used by my mother, and a baby cup of my father's. Really special to me to know that their hands touched the pieces.
