Teens Love Chalk Walls By pamarama on - Updated Sep 18, 2011
Our teen daughter is very creative and wanted to have a chalkboard wall in her bedroom when we re-painted it. At Home Depot we found some different kinds of paint, including challkboard paint. She decided that she would like one wall in her bedroom painted with it so she could keep track of her busy social calendar. The pain was not cheap, at $25 per quart, but luckily we were doing only one wall. I was worried that the paint would not go on as smoothly as other paint, but it did! She was able to paint most of the wall herself, it was so easy. The coversage was typical of any dark color, and it needed two coats. We had the perfect amount of paint. It has also held up quite well, and has not chipped or anything. It is easy to clean with a damp cloth.

I love this idea. I am thinking of painting the bottom of our kitchen table with this stuff. Then the kids can have a chalkboard that is hidden! They spend a ton of time under the table anyway as we often use it to build forts!
