Texas Getaway: Possum Kingdom Lake

I used to spend Girl Scout trips at this popular Texas destination.Possum Kingdom Lake is one of the largest, clearest and most beautiful lakes in Texas.Located in the Palo Pinto Mountains near the Brazos River Valley, this lake is in the Possum Kingdom Lake State Park.

The park offers camping, and deluxe cabins which are complete with air conditioning, heat, an oven and cooktop range, a refrigerator, a bathroom with a shower and a picnic table and grill outside.

Activities on the lake include swimming, water skiing, biking and fishing.When I was at Possum Kingdom Lake, some of my favorite activities were hiking, cooking outdoors and looking at wildflowers and wildlife.The Texas wildflowers which grow at Possum Kingdom Lake are vibrant and rich in color and natural beauty.I highly recommend Possum Kingdom Lake, especially for summer travel.
