Texas Instruments Ti 83 Plus Silver Edition By k0b3x on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

The Texas Instruments TI-83 Plus Silver Edition is a calculator that can be used throughout high school and even through most of college. Most high school math classes (algebra through calculus) will take advantage of this calculators functions and is required to do well. Most kids either have the TI-83 or TI-84 versions now. The TI-83 Silver edition is faster than the normal TI-83 and it has a clear case to distinguish itself. From my experience, I didn't really recognize the speed difference and both were about the save so you should buy the regular version to save money. The battery life is average considering it uses four triple A batteries. The calculator goes beyond what is needed for calculus and statistics classes and it has served me well throughout high school.

Thanks for the sticker shock!!!!! My daughter goes to high school next year, I will freak if I have to spend 120.00 on a calculator.
