Thank You For Smoking By WreathofBarbs on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

"Michael Jordan plays ball. Charles Manson kills people. I talk. Everyone has a talent." - Nick Naylor, in the fictional black comedy novel Thank You For Smoking. The novel is a hilarious satire on the tobacco and, in an interesting standpoint, anti-tobacco industries. The book bites hard at both sides, with a seeming, and possibly subjective, stance on total neutrality. Thank You For Smoking stars Nick Naylor as the spokesperson for tobacco world-wide. A hard-hitting, universally despised icon trying to promote cigarettes, be a good father, hang on to the new love in his life, climb up the corporate ladder despite the back-stabbing odds, and avoid frequent death threats. The novel is a great, entertaining read with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments and I highly recommend it.
